Its the Soundtrack, Stupid.

We have had so many people encourage us, so it would be impossible to list everyone who has encouraged us, so we kept this page for the people who will be contributing music to the show “Living Evil” in its’ first season, and add more as we iron out the details.

When People Were Shorter and Lived Near the Water – If you’re looking for strange, you’ve found it. Nuff said. — http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/When_People_Were_Shorter_and_Lived_Near_the_Water

Johnny Hobo and the Freight Trains — A really great DiY punky folk band that sung songs I ould relate to as a drugged-out teenager in a small town. Pat is my friend. — http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Hobo_and_the_Freight_Trains

Shellac – A band lead by legendary indie producer Steve Albini, and featuring the talents of really talented bassist and producer, recording engineer Bob “Smithin” Weston (I just gave him that nickname!), and a very talented, off-kilter, and fashionable percussionist, drummer Todd Trainer. We are glad that I mustered up the courage to talk to Mr. Albini TWICE and ask for permission to use their music – (You can go to this link, a link to their site on Touch and Go Records; http://www.touchandgorecords.com/bands/band.php?id=22 or to Mr. Albini’s recording studio site, if you need anything further; http://www.electrical.com

Slightly Stoopid — Reggae-fusion renegades, came on the scene as wide-eyed teenagers, and have been playing mind-melting jams since, melting minds and sparking (pun intended) a new generation of reggae-punk fans. I have been a fan for a few years now, and I fully support all creative efforts from the guys in the coming years. We’re glad to have them aong our ranks. — http://www.slightlystoopid.com

Del the Funky Homosapien – Constantly re-imagining what it means to make hip hop, Del has transcended MC’ing, and skipped right on to being a god. This man knows what the hell it takes to be one of the best in the hip hop scene.  Another legend signed to be on Living Evil. – http://www.delthefunkyhomosapien.com

R. Stevie Moore — The real deal. This guy has done it all in rok and ‘pop’ sounds, released over 400 albums, many of which are available online. Honest tunes that dont hinge on sounding normal. — http://www.rsteviemoore.com/

Jughead’s Revenge — Another of the original punk bands that has signed up to be on the show. Joe Doherty from the band even has expressed interest in voicing Growthy! – http://www.juggrevenge.com

GG Allin and the Murder Junkies — In memory of GG Allin, we’re featuring his music on our cartoon. We talked to his bassist and brother, Merle Allin, who gave us the go-ahead.  We, as the Hive, truly are inspired by GG’s life and words, poetry, and philosophy. We are dedicating the first episode of Living Evil to his memory. Live on forever GG.

Millions of Dead Cops — An anarchic, rebellious punk band, whose spirit of anarchy and nonconformity influenced every step of the creative process of the show, and of the Hive of Dukes. Dave Dictor called me, and let me know that he may also do a voiceover on the show! — http://web.mac.com/erposner1/MDC/MDC_PUNK.html (official website currently down)

Chotto Ghetto — A very unique group, some of the stuff I like most is weird music, on a weird label, with a weird M.O. This is filled by Chotto Ghetto. A very intense group, taking a hardcore punk format, and replacing the whiny tendencies of newer punk, putting in place of that a very metal-sounding metallic kick reminiscent of Pantera. — http://www.chottoghetto.com/

Truman’s Water – An experimental indie rock group that gained a cult following in the mid-90’s, with a little help from late-great noise-lover, DJ John Peel. I saw these guys on a Beefheart cover album, and after I told them that I knew some of the original Magic Band, they jumped at the chance to be on the soundtrack. — http://www.trumanswater.com/

Yellow Swans (RIP) — A really strange band, Yellow Swans WAS a two man noise group, they utilized noises, feedback, and dissodant, liquid rage to make a really great psycho-noise collage, however, they are no longer making music as a group, and we pray for the soul of this dead band, may it go to band heaven, where there is no label interference, great gear, and cheap recording costs. — http://www.jyrk.com/yellowswans/

Ronan Stone – A great Irish man, who is very encouraging of our impending domination of the entertainment industry, a great musician, a really good guy, and talented singer. – www.myspace.com/ronanstone

James Maddock — A British-American songwriter, one of the great unknown geniuses alive today. I consider him better than Bono, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and Buddy Holly altogether. His music is like The Fray, if The Fray were better. — http://jamesmaddock.net/

Can Kickers – A true diamond in the rough, that’s what could easily be said about the Can Kickers — perhaps best known on the internet for doing rowdy fightin’ version’s of the sweet songs of our childhood (“Froggy Went A’ Courtin'”, etc. etc.) I spoke to Doug from TCK and they’re ON the show! – http://www.cankickers.com/

Sukhawat Ali Khan – This guy is so great, you don’t know. We here at Sunday Morning Animation hadn’t heard Sukhawat by name before, but we have inevitably heard his voice before with all of the projects honored with his perticipation, including Disney’s “Hidalgo”. As a Buddhist myself, it struck me that Sukhawat Ali Khan has played for Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama! We are happy that he has decided to be a part, and we hope he is a member of the Sunday Morning family for a long time. http://www.jahnur.com/sukhawat

King Django – Our Jewish pal Jeff Baker, aka King Django, is a ska musician extraordinare, one of the most talented, roots-central, experimental, intelligent, and respected reggae-ska-rocksteady musicians of the last twenty years. Jeff will be performing voiceovers on the show, more updates when I find out more – http://www.kingdjango.com

The Verbtones –Surf rock troubadours, keeping the steady and free-spirited tradition of surf music alive, a solid mixture of excellent musicianship, high quality standards, and undying devotion to the art of surf tunes, these people are amazing (and the drummmer is insane!) — http://www.theverbtones.com/

The  Who Show — A startlingly real, fresh, and new tribute to the music of some of rock’s greatest, The Who. With a great stage show, realistic dress like the band themselves, great, clear versions of their best songs, anything it takes to get a show going, they are keeping the legend alive :D — http://www.thewhoshow.com/

Adam Pfeffer – An amazing musician, who really makes it impossible to categorize. His musical expertise has spanned dozens of genres and subgenres, but most of it I would describe as KICK ASS! Adam and I are personal friends, and I’m glad we’re collaborating. – http://www.antimi.com/discography.htm

The Van Allen Belt – An experimental group of unique individuals, who rarely follow a traditional song structure, and are always treading the line between melody and insanity. http://www.myspace.com/thevabelt

STUKA – A Serbian Punk/Blues band who, from what I gather, is no longer making music, ever since our friend, lead singer Miroslav, moved to France. However, their legacy as the greatest Garage Blues/Punk band from Serbia that I’ve EVER listened to, remains unbroken. – http://www.myspace.com/stukaserbia

Comus – In my own words, used dozens of times, Comus represents mysticism and psychedelia. A severely underrated band, still playing shows! – http://www.comusmusic.co.uk

Kerry Christensen – This guy is the bees knees, for real. He is one of the most eclectic and talented yodelers of all time, a zither virtuoso, a sincere fella who loves performing. I have spoken with Kerry before, and let me tell you, he was quick to support young animators who LOVE his style of music. He is a real kind of guy, and look for his music in “Living Evil” – http://www.kerrychristensen.com

Elastic No-No Band – Justin Remer, artist produer and director, has been more than welcoming, encouraging, and kind in letting us use his music. He is a friend of mine, and he really is the 21st century’s re-incarnation of R. Stevie Moore. I hear unsettling rumors that the band may be on hiatus, but these rumors are un-confirmed. – http://www.elasticnonoband.com

Pro Audio – Supporters of the cartoon from way before it was created, these guys are so creative that the nerdy brains here at Sunday Morning Animation almost collapse at it’s beauty. Pro Audio are geek rock for the new age, and reminds us that we are all individuals, and their refreshing sound is a beacon of hope if you think times are beginning to suck. AND… we all think Bri is supUR häwthttp://www.proaudioband.com/

Wheat – This band is both extremely popular, and very lucky to have copyrighted a grain! I spoke with Drummer Brendan Harney quite a few times, and he HAS confirmed us to be best friends! They’ve been everywhere and done it all, opened for Toad the Wet Sprocket, and been on Carson and Conan. Ive known them for almost two years and we will be using some of their excellent pop goodness for the show – http://www.wheatmusic.com

Bukue One – This man is the real deal. He has so many endeavors that he works on, managing Del the Funkee Homosapien and others, making fantastic, funky albums of his own, skating and doing graffitti. He’s a real homie of mine.- http://bukue.bandcamp.com

Jonathan Segel – A talent multi-instrumentalist, he co-runs Magnetic Motor Works, which licensed music from him, and Jack and Jill to us. He also played with a band that I discovered in a dirty cardboard box at a resale shop, Camper van Beethoven! He was also in a band that is ALSO contirbuting to the soundtrack of season 1, Jack and Jill!http://www.magneticmotorworks.com/

The A-Sides – A group of talented musicians, with an underrated-ly clever singer. They never disappointed me, and you should agree, or you’re all jerks. These guys broke up in 2008, the year we started work on writing Living Evil. http://www.a-sides.net

Aberdeen City (RIP) – Indie rock far older that its’ years. I’ve known this band for about four years, and I had no doubts about having them on Living Evil. I’m sure you’ll like them too – http://www.aberdeenmusic.com

Donna the Buffalo – A “they” not a “she”, a really unique, hard to describe group, but for the most part, they are a blueegrassy group but not country, a jam band, but not the Dead; all while maintaining a genuine, socio-political edge and an indie sensibility. http://www.donnathebuffalo.com

Rock Daddy Rock – Fronted by musician and songwriter Chris Bihuniak, who is currently the champion of teaching kids music about good behavior, as well as teaching kids using music. A smart guy, and the owner/licensier of 4Boys Inc. – http://www.4boysinc.com

Danny Bedrosian – Keyboardist for several incomparable ensembles, including legendary George Clinton’s legendary P-Funk Allstars, Danny was extremely kind in contributing some great stuff to our sounds! We all like Danny, and his extensive catalogue and exhaustive amount of skill leaves little to the imagination. He is working on a lot of great new stuff, too. Go to his site for more on that – http://www.dannybedrosian.com

Buckner and Garcia – Most famed perhaps for their outrageously popular album and single “Pac Man Fever” back in the day, Jerry Buckner, aka Buckner, said that we could use their tunes for the show, which we all appreciate and are so happy that he decided that we were worthy of contracting Pac Man Fever. If that’s what’s going around, I don’t want an anti-virus. http://www.bucknerandgarcia.com

The Magnetic Fields –  Me (The Big Fish)’s favorite band, the quirky, melancholy, loving, mysterious group known as the Magnetic Fields. They run the whole gamut of emotions, songwriter Stephin Merritt understands love more fully than any philosopher I know. They are more than words can describe, and Pianist/Singer Claudia Gonson says we’re FRIENDS!!! – http://www.houseoftomorrow.com
